My story

I grew up Christian but strayed from my beliefs. I went to college, graduated, broke up with my first love after 4 years and then fell into this deep dark pit. I tried killing myself (and almost succeeded the first time). After several attempts of trying to kill myself I realized God wasn't going to let that happen. I then threw myself into abusive relationships and drugs. After losing everything (apartment, entire storage unit with all my baby stuff and memories, my cats, my car, EVERYTHING) I still used. It took being homeless, being forced to do things I never would have done for a guy that abused me in every way possible, took all my money, I finally came to a domestic violence shelter. You had to find another place to live and the first offer you get, you go. My offer was a Christian transitional housing place. Words can't describe how much I didn't want to go, but I did. It changed my life. One of the rules was no dating for 6 months. Well I was there 5 months before I got kicked out...not for relapsing, not for getting written up, but for hanging out with the guy who prostituted me and abused me. I don't know the strange attachment I had to him, but he controlled me soo well, it's scary. Anyhow, I then ended up on the streets of downtown Seattle 2 days before I was suppose to be baptized. I was in the scariest place imaginable, had to keep all my belongings on me or have them stolen and slept on the floor with mentally unstable women and women who were hard and use to the streets. I was terrified. A lady took my under her wing and took care of me, made sure I didn't run into trouble and showed me the "ropes". Anyhow, 2 days later I was baptized. I gave my life to Jesus and asked him to lead me. I spent 6 months living in a tent before I finally got into my own place again. Once I got into my own place is when I noticed the HPV.  Jesus carried me through the worst times. In that time I relapsed once and somehow I walked away from heroin for good after (and the ex that was soo terrible). I am no where near in the place I want to be but I am where I am now because Jesus.
