Well, it is friday morning. Last night went ok. It was the funeral for that young boy. So sad yet so exciting. Michael only 19 years old touched so many hearts. He loved the Lord with all his heart. He wanted to serve and serve is what he did. And it was just a short life. He was able to touch a whole community and then some. Over 5,000 people came. It was beautiful. Today they will have a the burial. A full firemans funeral. IT starts at 10. When I got to his mom, I just held, her in my arms. I didn't want to let her go. I knew her pain. I knew how exhausted she must have felt. I just wanted to sit there and rock her back and forth like she was my child. His sisters looked so sad and the youngest who I knew the most and has a similar personality as her brother was just standing there staring at the casket. My son wanted to know why they never look the same as when they are alive. It really bothers him. I told him because it is an empty shell. The soul is away either in heaven or hell. And our soul is what gives us life it gives the outer appearence life and it no longer is there. The people who prepare the bodies. Don't really know the individual, and they do it by a picture. So they do the best they can. This was a good thing for me and him to go together. We were able to talk about my husband's funeral and try to understand it all. Something we never did. So it was good. he opened up and I opened up. My son now wants to be a fire fighter, and get a tatoo. Oh boy. But he said he felt something sitting there. I told him it was the spirit of God. He wants to serve. Oh is that not awesome. God wants him to serve. We will see, if he listens to the spirit. The one thing about the funeral is it definitly showed belonging, brotherhood, and love. This boy so young touched so many lives. Also their was an invitation and many people accepting the Lord as their savior. I am sure Mike is up in heaven still rejoicing. He probally was knudging Jesus saying oh this is awesome. The chief of police accepted the Lord, and he went right over to the pastor and said I finally get it. I couldn't wait to raise my hand. Oh it make me cry. But tears of joy.Well I have a very busy weekend. So if you don't here from me. Know I am ok. Take care. Love, Eileen

Hi Eileen, Thank you for sharing about the funeral. The Lord does work in mysterious ways. I am so blessed to hear of you and your son being able to talk and share about Harrys funeral. Communication is the key to any relationship but especially your child. Blessings to you and your son. My son is a Policeman/Swat and firefighter so my heart goes out to that mom. Michaels mission was over on this earth and he has reaped the harvest Christ had set before him. Praise The Lord and May God continue to hold you in the palm of His hand until we meet again. Your friend, Nancy

I think you know my husband died fighting a fire. The funeral, last call at the fire station and the full firemen\'s funeral is an overwhelming experience - I still don\'t think it has fully hit!

Two of my son\'s high school friends were so touched by my husband\'s funeral that one decided and enlisted in the Navy this summer and the other has changed his college plans to become a fire fighter. At my husband\'s service the prayer of Salvation was given and we know of at least 2 of the thousands of firefighters who were there prayed it. Both were having personal and family problems and after that day their lives have started to change for the positive. It is hard for me to accept my husband\'s deaths, but these stories from others bring a bit of comfort. Praying for this young man\'s family!
