Can you remember the day when you couldn't wait until Friday got here. Oh how those days, are memories of the past. I am walking this friday with happy thoughts of what yesterday was about. I am in love with today, yesterday and the hope for tomorrow.
My husband was a man who enjoyed the end of the week. When he could sit and just do nothen. I remember when we first met, if the weekend came and there was no plans. He go to the grocery store, and get enough food to feed an army. Turn off the phone, turn off the lights, and not answer the phone. And we would spend the weekend in the apartment with the radio and tv. With no interuptions. I thought this kinda odd. And when I questioned him on it. He told me sometimes you have to turn the outside off. People would always want something or something of you. But sometimes you have to just enjoy the quietness and peace of your own little place. To be renewed and refresh for the next week. It was that lesson. That taught me I too needed to relax more often then I did. But now as I sit and reflect on those weekends that we spent in B7 I laugh, because it was at that time, when I began to know and fall in love with him. It was only the two of us. And the outside world seemed to be miles away. Even the sounds of the pike out front did not tare us away from falling in love with each other. God has such a sense of humor. On our first date we found out I was moving into the same apartment complex that he had lived the last 10 years. He lived in B building and 8 days from our first date I moved into the D building. To not laugh at that would be just to strange. Because in the town we live there is about 7 apartment complexs, in just that town, and the next town has about 20. So God placed me there and here he was in the same complex. Of course I had the better apartment. Due to the fact he moved in 10 years prior and it hadn't been updated. So in that first year when we entertained friends they came to my place. I now miss the small apartment and those hideway weekends as he called them. The weekend is here, and it won't be quiet. Thank God for Fridays.
