Thank god....

My lungs are starting to ease up.  No longer feeling like god has got me in a bear hug. I've finally done a bit of researching in the right place and found that difficulty breathing after quitting a fairly heavy smoking habit is not uncommon, nor is chest pain.  When I first quit smoking I was fine for about a week but then I started feeling this terrible tightness in my chest several times a day. Not all day but a bloody good lot of the day. For the last couple days it's been much less and much more rare and much more expectorating (spitting up goop) that I guess has been in my lungs a long time now.  Psychologically, with my doctor throwing out the incorrect or rather incomplete copd diagnosis on the basis of a faulty xray and my breathing trouble coming on days later had me in a tizzy.  I think I finally have a handle on what is going on with my body. Something that makes sense.
So, if you are here at this site and in the same position as me and uncertain of why your lungs might feel like hell after quitting the smoking may be a possibility.
