So my house is up for sale, officially since Wednesday, but people have started to view the house since Sunday. On the first day I had 3 couples come through and another one scheduled for tonight. It bothers me a little that people are coming through 'my' house, but if that's what it takes to move on with my new life - then bring it on!
I had a visit from the MIL on Saturday and I thought that I would be okay with it but she had me in bawling! We saw each other, loaded her car up with his stuff and then I invited her into the house for a drink. We took a look around and I (foolishly) told her that when we divorce, there might be some things that she would want back! Her response to me was 'the only thing I want back is you'. I couldn't believe that I was hearing this from her - she has told me repeatedly that she 'must' side with her son and the decisions he makes, but that she knows, without a shadow of a doubt, that he is making a BIG mistake. Wow - that's so hard to hear. I thanked her for her love and support over the years, and that I would love to keep her in my life (probably the only person from this whole ordeal) and she was receptive to that.
This weekend was really hard, for the first time since all this started, I grabbed for a bottle of wine! I got through more than half of it on Saturday night. I felt horrible for doing it, but at least I only went for alcohol, it could have been worse!
I know I can make it through this, I know that I will only be stronger as a result.
