56 players
56 kids took the field last night 56 young men, played football last night at the local field, they were challeged by a much smaller group of 28, a smaller school. The hometown team of 56 lost, to a team half there size from a school that is in the middle of nowhere that is half the size of ours. Our team, lifted weights all summer long, they ran all summer, they practiced hard. Their team, worked hard all summer as well, lifting haybales, tending gardens, fixing cars, etc. It boils down to this IMO 28 youngmen, outsized and out-trained soundly defeated a bigger, better trained group of 56 because they came here as a team, working together in unison for one outcome >>>> VICTORY. Some day, i will look back on these mad-cap meanderings and wander just what kind of weirdo I am, yet at this moment I am constantly drawing parallels between Football and life. The stbx and I were a team at one point, and we were undefeatable. Then we became individuals looking for the big gains, our name in the limelight. Just like the boys last night, it doesn't matter how good of a quarterback you have, if your line will not block that qb will have a hard time completing a pass, throwing from the seat of his pants. In turn it doesn't matter how much you shower them with your love, it's all to no avail if they are only interested in their own indulgences. Final score 17-6 season record1-1 life score : surviving marriages 0 failed marriages 2, clock is winding down on #3

I like your writings...a deep thinker...just like me !! I understand all too well everything you say. Keep doing it ..it\'s very calming and theraputic I think. I did the same sort of thing with a picture in my album...we both look at things and see so much more than what the eye takes in.We find meaning that is not always obvious to everyone around us, and try to make sense of things that don\'t always make sense.
hugs from me to you !!
ahhhh...yes...how very true indeed my friend! I have seen this happen at the state tournament level!! My senior year of high school, there were 7 young men on that vasity basketball team..they actually made it to the state championship...the opposing team had a bench a mile long....we had our 7....who do you think won??? That is the only basketball tounament that small little private school has ever won in it\'s history....and my dad was the coach. There are alot of parallels here and you are wise enough to see them
Teamwork in a relationship-it\'s so important. When I look back at all we achomplished as a team-and then he wanted to play some solitary sports-like chase the young girls! Don\'t give up on relationships and marriage. I believe there are people out there that understand what it takes to have a lifelong committment, teamwork, love, sex-you just need to find her.
