Let me drown with you.

When you throw yourself over the edge,
Let me jump with you.
When you tie yourself to the anchor,
Let me tie myself with you.
Because who will untie you
when you change your mind?
Who will push you back up to the surface
when you remember the warmth of the light?
I want to be there when you fall,
if only to act as a cushion.
I want to lose myself in the dark with you,
if only to console you when you're scared.
I want to be there when you're cornered by your demons,
to cheer you on from the opposite corner.
I want to be there when you need me most,
and every step up to that point.
I want to be there…
because I want to come out the other side with you.
I want to grow with you.
I want to find the end of the tunnel with you.
I want to find happily ever after with you.
It's a lot to ask.
It's risky for me to admit this.
But everything I do is a risk now.
A risk I'm willing to chance, a chance I'm willing to take.
Because even if it's just a drug induced dream,
I see a future.
I see the potential, the happiness,
the joy and fulfillment.
I see a lifetime of love, and love worth forever.
It's an addictive prescription.
It may be dangerous to become dependent on.
But it's too late to turn back now.
All I can do is hope you feel the same. Hope that you would jump with me,
you would sink with me,
you would tie yourself with me on this suicidal journey.
All I can do, is hope that you would do the same.
And that we would survive.
It's the ultimate test of courage.
Our values will be challenged,
our souls gripped so tightly they nearly shatter.
But wouldn't it be better, so much better,
to go through that with you?
Wouldn't it be so much easier to have you by my side?
It's a painful road ahead of us,
but I'd rather have walked it and learned love and life,
than have ignored it out of fear,
and never known the joy I know now. Never tasted the nectar of the tree only written in legend,
painted in bursts of dark and light colors,
a tapestry sewn with two different ends,
one lovely, the other ugly,
the whole thing worn by ages of rumors and regrets.
But one wouldn't know the soft, caressing texture
without taking the risk of trying it on. Avoided by all,
because it isn't as beautiful as the one they dream of.
It isn't as flawless, as gorgeous a quilt as they imagined.
Judged by its cover,
a rare few experience the revelation of its soothing embrace,
worth every doubtful thought and every fear they faced on the way there.
This is what pushes me forward,
what encourages me to fight for you. The promise of sewing the story of our own tapestry.
