55 Years !!
We have been married for 55 yrs today!! I was 16 and he was 18...What were we thinking??? People said" too young, will not last, just kids" and much more. But here we are still together. I would change many things in my life but not the decision to marry the man that I still love. Lots of hugs to you all!!

Wonderful news! When you meet the right person, you know it. But I don\'t know how in the world you managed to make enough money in those early young years. We are chasing you at 52 yr. on the 18th.
Hugs and love.
Wonderful, simply wonderful! Congratulations and many more.
Great! We were married a month less than 60 yrs when I lost my Mike and as you say we were still in love. It is not like that today, I\'m afraid.
Congratulations! We\'ve been married over 41 years and went together for 5 years in highschool, etc, before we were married. Our family had a surprise open house for our 40th which was wonderful.
Hey that is great !! i wonder how you and your husband got by financially when you were so young. i married my first husband at 15 and he was 20 . He didn\'t like being married .Well not to me. He had a good job working at Lockheed. i had a daughter by him. He divorced me after 17 mos. the second husband lasted 15 yrs and we had 3 children. He was very abusive and the marriage lasted that long because of all the benefits for me and my kids. He was overseas alot so that helped. Congradulations!!! God Bless you both!!!! june.
Oh wow Pat. You make me cry! What a beautiful thing to say...what a testament to your long, long, love. You are a very lucky couple. Do you have a wedding picture you could post? I would love it! Happy Anniversary! xo Mel
Yes, I will try to find a picture of us 55 years ago.... However, I know that we look better now. LOL When we got married we had a $5 dollar budget for our food.... What a laugh !!! We had lots of potatoes, beans and meatloaf. We would rotate meat loaf and potatoes, then potatoes and beans and then beans. Then start again. We did not realize that we were poor. haha
We did not have our son until 9 years later so we had several years alone.
I really think in the long run that was a good thing. We never went running home for sympathy and we just worked out any problems. Thanks to all of you for commenting on the journal. xoxo pat
