i just figured out today that i am the peace maker in my family. my brother was suppose to mow the yard and only did like half. so i mowed some of it. but i couldn't mow all cuz i have to go and take care of some dogs and then go to work. but i've alway's been finishing up or doing their work so no one will get yelled at and the house will be in peace. but once my mom find's out i did their work she get's mad so we try not to let her know.

You may think that by helping out that your doing your brother a favor. And it seems beneficial to you because it keeps home life more harmonious. But others don\'t learn the sense of responsibility that you already know by doing their chores for them on a continual basis. Others need to learn that they must meet their own responsibilities and that there\'s consequences if they don\'t. This helps them grow up without being dependent on somone to do things for them or without expecting hand outs. Next time, you\'d be doing your brother a bigger favor by not helping him and letting the chips fall where they may, even though it may be hard and it may not seem that way at the time.

Its understandable what your doing. We do what we can to make our lifes easier and safer, yet its not always the best thing. When we get older we tend to have a harder time saying \'No\', we feel guilty and we end up taking on too much. It\'s best too practise not doing things which normally you would do and just beaware of the feelings which arise when you dont do it. Its a eye opener to see how much we think our self worth and the love or care of others depend on not saying \'No\' to others. Not sure if you can relate to this. Have a great wkend.
