I found an article in my newspaper about the need for volunteers with the Meals on Wheels program at a hospital nearby. I want to do this alot, but not sure if my shyness and anxiety are going to get in my way again. It always takes me so long to get the nerve up to make a phone call. I always feel like I won't understand the directions completely and embarrass myself. This has been very paralyzing for me and no one but my family understands me. I would love to help people, but this always holds me back. I wish I were'nt like this because I know I'm missing out on life and doing things that I so want to do. I really feel trapped inside myself.

Thank all of you for your support. It\'s sad that people have to be so stressed out from their jobs. I\'m praying for a miracle.
I\'m basically shy too,& grit my teeth when I face new situations.Happily,my volunteering experiences have been very positive.I know you will feel a lot of gratification & joy when you volunteer.Giving of oneself is very rewarding.Good luck!
I am not sure how you can get over the anxiety side of it but i am sure that if you could this would be very rewarding for you and for others...
