New Year

This was the first Christmas and New Year without my husband physically here.  However, after seeing him this last week and then getting two letters from him, his spirits are up.  As a result, mine are too.  While I miss him, I have some hope for 2016.  This hope is due to my being able to survive.  It's been two months since he was taken into custody, and the lights are still on, the cable is paid, got a new car, and the rent has been paid in full so far.  January 6 marks 60 days, which means in AR DOC math, my husband will have served a full year of his sentence.
I am truly blessed that his family and my friends have been very supportive.  That support also gives me much hope.
Last night I was with those friends, and when auld lang syne was played by them on their instruments, tears did start welling up.  When that happened, hugs were given-the emotion of the song did invoke those missed feelings.
My own family has their own issues, so, being able to lean on them really isn't an option.  My mother is having some health issues, and Daddy becomes more frail and increasingly nocturnal and confused, so, we are preparing for the eventuality that he may not last this year.  Only time will tell.  Christmas, as expected, was utter chaos with the children, mom and her health, She and my sister having clashes because their personalities are so much alike, and my sister's in-laws being there as well, and the two matriarch's competing with each other.  Quite chaotic to say the least.  My brother and I would spend the evenings at his house venting about the spectacle.  Needless to say, I was glad to get back home and have a vacation from "this vacation."
Going to start buckling down this year-gotta start practicing on a regular basis-work to grow my studio again, and stay as busy as possible this year-It'll help make the time go by faster.  I've got to get back on the treadmill again as well.
