Hello SOTH - just checking in after vacation and mentally getting ready to return to work tomorrow. It is so good to be home. We got home Wednesday eve so I've had a few short days to do laundry, clean, etc.. I had Hunter Friday & Saturday which of course is always a highlight of my days!
Puerto Vallarta didin't fail this time - the weather was 80's everyday with sunny skies, white fluffy clouds and a slight ocean breeze...only a couple of days were humid in evening but I'm certainly not complaining. We arrived on Palm Sunday so that week was Holy week (Santa Semana) - it was very crowded - hard to walk down streets, especially @ night and the beaches were just as crowded. Of course, I loved sitting on the beach, people watching without a worry. Everyday I was on that beach, looking out on the vast ocean and talking to the vendors as they passed by with all kinds of stuff (none of which I need, but sure fun to look). The food was excellent - I kept telling myself, "guacamole is good for me right?" and the chips, oh yeah, the chips (not so much) - Just to be on the beach and eat fresh fish on a stick was fabulous.I tried to post pictures but they wouldn't post, so I'll try again.....
Easter we walked up to the Catholic cathedral. It was very crowded so we stood on the steps outside of the front door - the music was so beautiful - the cathedral had such high ceilings with stained glass windows and gold everywhere that the acoustics for the music was perfect. As people were walking out, I was walking in so we were able to listen to the last 10 minutes (english & spanish) I am not catholic but God met me there and it was awesome to spend Easter morning there. (will try to post pictures)
The time to just relax and think and marvel @ God's creation was very healing and calming to me.. I loved getting up every morning and having coffee and walking along the beach before it became crowded. I'm always glad to be home - I feel safest here in my coccoon - grateful.
Hunter is doing well - he had a great spring break as well - went rock climbing which is his biggest thing now - he really liked it. Our time together was awesome - he sure looks like his mom - I sure miss her. One night we were having dinner on the beach and I was thinking that I sure wish Jennifer would show up..Jim looked in the sky and there was one paper lantern floating high in the sky - we looked @ each other and immediately started laughing because remember what happened when I lit them on Jennifer's angelversary? we started a "fire"....It was so nice because we talked about my daughter for a little bit...oh how my heart was happy - I told Jim to talk about her - I need that!!! Thanks Jennifer!!
Sending hugs and then more hugs to my Sisters of the Heart. (((((hugs))))) Vicki
