Fear
Well, yesterday was an eventful day as that mass shooting was about 20 miles from my work & residence....we were put on modified lockdown and of course the fear soared with the kids & adults. Redlands is considered a small town community and who have thought that this husband and wife team would be the shooters who ruthlessly killed 14 people who were attending a christmas party for work?!*%
Pray for the families who have lost loved ones - we all know how that feels.....offramps to certain streets still closed which makes freeway traveling a challenge.....what is happening?
Hunter's birthday dinner went well - he was in a happy mood and is looking forward to a party this week-end with friends to go roller blading......Sure love that kid.....Take good care, Sisters.

I really can\'t get my head around mass shootings. I wonder what the motivation was. I know I am not popular with a lot of Americans but I really don\'t believe the gun laws are helping the situation. I have heard a lot of people say that the 2nd Amendment is doing people a lot of good. The founding fathers are probably rolling over in their graves seeing what is going on and the types of firearms are being carried by people. I couldn\'t imagine carrying a gun! Growing up, we had guns in the house - for deer and moose hunting. I didn\'t like guns then and still don\'t. Canada is not immune to gun violence but it is much less prevalent. Okay that is my rant. It just hurts when I think of the families who are planning funerals due to senseless violence.
On a happier note, I am so glad Hunter is looking forward to celebrating!
Grandchildren are such a blessing. Cevyn will be here in 2.5 weeks - Yay!!

I am so very glad you are safe. Things like this can really take a stress toll on the entire nation and especially on locations near the scene. I can remember when Columbine happened which was near me. I was not at school that day but did check in with my coworkers a time or two. It was very frightening. I will definitely pray for those affected by the shootings. It is so very sad!

Just makes my heart break when I hear of these senseless tragedies. Each person awakening to their day and then in a moment ALL is forever changed.
I pray for the safety of my loved ones daily and the world and will continue to. It lifts me to do so and I remember long ago reading that instead of worrying if we can send a blessing that it is far more powerful for the giver as well as the receiver. Not always easy to do, yet I try to make a conscious choice daily to do so when I go into that fear space.
I understand too how scary it is to have these things happen close to home.
