Friday!
Hello dear sisters of my heart - it's finally Friday!! Thanksgiving break is in the air and the kids are always restless. I'm spending the day with Hunter tomorrow - praying that it is a good time for both - Hunter has been struggling in school so continued prayers there.
I've been reading "The Fear Cure". I struggle with fear and the what if's in life - it seems this is magnified since I know what happens when the "what ifs" happen. My anxiety has been increasing and the thoughts in my head often take control and I'm a maniac for awhile so back to my point :)
In this book, "Courage-Cultivating Exercise#1" talks about recognizing your SMALL SELF....When you recognize that this SMALL SELF is scared, angry or disappointed or betrayed - visualize the radiance of your Inner Pilot Light comforting your SMALL SELF like a loving grandmother, an angel, or in the arms of God - whatever it is for you....the point is become aware of where you are and what you are feeling and let your BIG GIRL tend to the LITTLE GIRL inside of all of us.
Let your Inner Pilot Light comfort your SMALL SELF as you would a hurting child....Once this small self calms down, it will be easier for you to return to the situation as a mature adult, able to make brave decisions and behave courageously. In reading this I find it interesting in the way that we all have this scared little girl inside screaming and at the same time we are mature adults who deal with life on a daily basis the best we can.
I don't know if any of this makes sense but to me - I need to often stop before reacting. I need to know what I'm really feeling and why if I know - I need to nurture myself when need BE so I can cope on this journey.
Just thought I would share - love the book -
Guess when they say "pull up your big girl panties" there is something to it - LOL

It sounds like an interesting read. We tend not to take care of us. I am getting better at taking a step back and trying to figure out what my issue is. I was not good at it in the first 2 or 3 years. I still am rather blunt when i think people sound inane to me. Unfortunately, a couple of them are dear friends - biting my tongue is not easy for me!
Enjoy your time with Hunter. I hope you both have a blast!
Love and hugs, M
I need to look for this book. Sounds like something I would like.
Hope you enjoy your time with Hunter. I wish I could be more outspoken with people. I tend to let people run over me. Just wishy-washy.
Hugs to you,

Have a great day with Hunter Hugs, Belinda
It does make a lot of sense to me. I am aware of the little girl inside me, wanting to curl up and hide from the whole world........! Thank you for sharing this.
Warm hugs! xxx
It does sound like a very interesting read. The little girl scared hiding in the closet, is calmed by someone. I like the idea of calm. This time of year is very hard so any calm is good.
Have a great time with Hunter.

Hope you have a good visit with Hunter and that some peace finds you this weekend. Hugs, Kathy
I am delighted that you are finding things with Lissa\'s writing that resonates for you. It helps me so much to have these people who can help me to reframe things that I am thinking about.
Hoping your date with Hunter is just what you need it to BE and sending tight heart (((hugs))) to you.

Anxiety is horrible! I had a terrible case of it earlier this year. I read your journal yesterday and decided to try this technique when my credit card company called and said someone called pretending to be me and they wanted to close my case for fraud. I used this technique, prayed about it and pulled myself back together. Thank you!
Hoping that your time with Hunter will be a happy and loving time!

I really like the thought of letting our \"big girl\" take care of our \"little girl\". I feel comforted just hearing that. Thanks for sharing.
There definately is a frightened, bewildered small girl, hiding inside me. I just hope I can figure out how to comfort her!!
Enjoy your time with Hunter :)
