Kids

I wasn't going to write tonite but I had a laugh at work so will share. For confidentiality reasons, I will name these two students with fake names....Eli & Jed.
I have a golf cart that I use @ work to transport students who have been injured - however I also take students here and there if need be once they leave the health office if I have time. It has been such beautiful weather, that it's a nice treat. Anyway.....I take Eli back to class everyday after he takes his medicine. Eli is a favorite student of mine and this is the 2nd year I have known him. Well,. Jed objects to me taking Eli in the cart. Because it is at lunch - as we go by in the golf cart, Jed yells to Eli that he is lazy and should be walking and why is Nurse Vicki taking him to class? Jed has really become obsessed with this....so he took it one step farther.
Jed went to the Principal to file a formal complaint. He wanted the principal to know that Eli was getting a ride in the golf cart when he could walk and he thought this was so unfair!!! The last time that Jed saw Eli an I in the golf cart he made a hand gesture that obviously got him in trouble.
Both of these students are in special ed for emotional issues so in saying that they become obsessed with something....so the golf cart with Eli in it was Jed's obsession. I saw Jed the next day after he filed a complaint with the principal and he asked me if I had been "ticketed" for taking a student who clearly in his mind did not need a ride.....I kept a straight face, somewhat, and told him the principal had talked to me....:) that seemed to satisfy him for now.....
I laughed later---this student will get a ride soon in the golf cart which I'm sure will make EVERYTHING that has happened prior okay.....LOL
Always remembering each of you and your precious children.
Tomorrow is Friday....yay!!! Hunter Saturday! I'm excited to see him and hug his neck (at 14 he will just have to put up with a silly YAHYA......(((((HUGS)))))) Vicki

Oh, what a story! Never a dull moment with children that is for sure and the way that you tell it makes me feel as if I was right there... Hand gestures and all. LOL!

Have the best time ever with your Hunter and believe me they can act as if they are too \"old\" for those hugs and snuggles, but don\'t believe it for a minute. He loves it and YOU!

I\'ll be thinking of you and knowing what a special weekend this will BE for you two.

Jennifer no doubt will be in the midst with her mini me and her mom. :)

With love,
XO Joanie
