Alone

I really don't know what to do or where to go or who to talk to anymore, i have a mom that's upset about what happened but dosen't want to talk about it with me bc she cant bare to hear it, i tried therapy and had a therapist that dozed off on me and told me i should feel ashamed about certain things i said. So tell me, how is someone my age suppose to deal with rape/incest with her brother all by herself? I'm so alone and so depressed, i can't talk to my friends about it bc they don't know and wouldn't know how to deal with that. I was a victim of rape with my brother, now i feel like a victim all over again to. Its gotta stop bc i don't know how much i can take......

Hi Carly, first I would like to say that you are a very strong girl for coming here and wanting to heal. The recovery will happen, but you need to have patience and to be perseverant in your healing journey.

It\'s understandable that your mother is upset. My family also didn\'t understand me and don\'t know how to support me. I had a very hard time and cried a lot while trying to explain them what happened. My mother cried and still gets upset when I explain a little bit about the rape.

I don\'t know why your therapist told you to feel ashamed. If you were telling her about the rape, then there is nothing to be ashamed of.

I understand this feeling of feeling alone with this. I also don\'t have here anybody to support me and understand me, so I come here to this group. You feel a victim now, but you are also a survivor and as you heal you will become a thriver. You are strong, you are bigger than this, don\'t let this become bigger than you. You need to take the strength from very deep inside you, you have got it. All of us have it. You also need to reach out to people who understand you, like other survivors and don\'t isolate yourself. You can overcome this.
