I feel a little bit better today--not as overwhelmed and hopeless feeling. Breathing became easier as the day progressed, but is difficult again this evening.Instead of sleeping, I finally got the dozens of tomatoes which finally ripened canned into salsa. This is the first time I've canned tomatoes, although I made mostly salsa. It is absolutely amazing how many tomatoes it takes to create 4 qts. of salsa! I think I have decided, although not said anything to Mike or anyone else yet, to ask for 1/2 time at the beginning of the next semester. I'll give up the afternoon English block. I'll be about 4.8/7 with four classes so it will be a little more than 1/2. I don't dare give up the whole thing as if I am able to finish my Master's degree this coming spring, I would like to be available for a job in special ed. Once I have my ED degree, I'll only need the LD methods class and internship to get certified. I could get the methods class this summer or online. One thing I do know--it is very stressful to take classes and/or do an internship while holding down a full time job. One of my friends on this site (name escapes me--so sorry--memory issues you know) is going to law school full time and commuting in addition to raising a family. I can't even imagine this. I see Dr. R on the 28th. I am anxious to experience the 'whole medicine' approach. I think that 'whole medicine' is really the only approach. The entire body/life needs to be treated, not just symptoms. Even though we know that MS is one of the problems (at least for me), it is only a part of me. Asthma and diabetes take up other parts. And the other parts? Right now pneumonia or bronchitis has a good claim on them. This too shall pass.Oh, I discovered (from reading the drug info. sheets that come with the prescriptions) that I am now on two steroids. Wonderful. I know that they will help my lungs, I just hate coming 'down' from them. I'll be tapering, but it is never easy for me coming off steroids. I warned Mike tonight that in a few days, when the steroids are gone, I might get insanely angry again. Poor Mike! I truly am the cross that he must carry. I thank God for him. Without Mike I would be a total basket case. I wish that every woman had a spouse like him. The divorce rate would be next to nil.
