Steroids and I do NOT get along. What a horrible morning. I didn't realize until this evening that I didn't take any of the day 2 steroids. No wonder the day started out badly. I lost my glasses this a.m. I remember cleaning them and after that, no clue! I think I may have accidentally thrown them in with the paper recycling...of course the recycling was picked up today...so there goes around $390.00! Ouch. My insurance only pays for about 1/3 of the cost and only every other year. Since I got them last year, I'll have to pay for all of it. I was so mad when I couldn't find my glasses that I literally threw a temper tantrum and even kicked a couple of boxes (empty). I scared by poor little dog and my husband heard me outside! He came rushing in thinking I had hurt myself. This is NOT NORMAL behavior for me. Is this what is called 'Roid rage'? I know that can happen with the illegal steroids and maybe it holds true for prednisone as well? I really don't know. Lately I seem to be fragmenting--forgetting things, so moody, easily angered, jumpy, lack of recall...I do believe that I am in an exacerbation. What else can explain the craziness that I've been experiencing since last Friday? On the bright side, once I got to school today I was fine and had a great day. Apparently I got all of my 'angries' out! Maybe that was good for me--sort of the 'primal scream' type of therapy! I still am rather amazed at how angry I became. So was my husband. I don't know if either of us recalls a time when I acted like I did this morning! Hopefully it won't happen again, but I must say, I certainly got out a lot of anger and frustration that I think was pent up. Once again, every negative appears to have a positive. I am considering quitting my internship as I don't seem to be able to manage to work full time and do the internship as well. Plus the assignments are totally stressing me out and I haven't even started them yet! I need to talk to my advisor. If I drop the internship, I need to do so very soon to recover at least some of my tuition.Well, this morning I felt like quitting my job but that was when I was angry and overwhelmed and couldn't find my glasses. I'm glad the day turned out well. I feel much better, too, which helps. I'll get back on the steroids tomorrow and finish my antibiotic so that I can get rid of this bug.My eyes tire easily since I don't have my glasses. I still can't believe that they are probably lying in a recycle bin somewhere...no use crying over spilt milk, as my mother would say...just need to go to the eye clinic tomorrow and pick up some frames...I hate doing that.Had I not used my old frames for my new lenses, I would have an old pair of glasses to wear. Guess that wasn't such a good idea. Live and learn.

I have totally been there with the steroids! :) Hang in there. Don\'t feel bad about the internship. You have to balance so that you remain healthy. God Bless.
When I have to take the IV roids. I swear I turn into a monster, and I am being kind by saying monster. :-) Are you on the roids for a relapse or do you take them all they time?
They don\'t work for me any longer so it is plasma pharesis if I have a relapse. Did you have a fever with your cold? Remember that can bring on a flare. Balance is the key. We do have to give up stuff just to live... Blessings
Thanks for the responses. Nope, no fever--rarely have one. No, not on steroids very often. Balance--I think I\'ve been trying to balance my life for the past 30 years!
hi eloise,
are you taking the oral steroid\'s.prednizone,i think you said.i usually take 60mg a day (3)with pepcid or zantac for stomache.a common
cold can bring on an exacerbation.i don\'t go near people who have even a cold.i\'ve learned my lesson the hard way.you will definately have mood swing\'s even with oral steroid\'s.it can also wind you up,that\'s why it\'s good to take them in the a.m.maybe you know this already.
