Busy weekend. Visited with Dad and Jewel. Dad continues to regress and often becomes hypoglycemic. He is 76 yrs. old. If he would follow his diet better, he'd probably feel so much better. At least he finally has a handicapped sticker for his car and is willing to use the motorized carts/chairs for shopping. He seems to like using those.Hmmm...how many times did I hear this weekend, "You look Great!" Of course, I just smile and say, "I feel great" (even if I don't). That comment seems to make people happy. It's more satisfying to make people happy, I guess. Jack came home today from New Orleans. I think he enjoyed himself although he disliked the heat. He and several others worked on a warehouse in New Orleans that was used during Katrina to house abandoned/stray animals. It's empty now and the kids were instructed to knock down the walls (offices) in the warehouse. Then they'd take the nails out of all of the boards. The lumber was being donated (?) to Habitat for Humanity so that six houses can be built. What an excellent way to reuse resources! And the warehouse will still be a warehouse-just the offices will be gone.I was so pleased that at least three of the adults on the trip told me how wonderful Jack was and how hard he worked. Now...if he can only keep it up. His schedule was very structured during the trip and he thrives on structure. I wish that Mike and I led a life that was more structured. We've tried, but it just doesn't work for us...especially during the school year.Avonex shot last night--basically painless. No real side effects other than fatigue which I really don't know is a side effect or just an effect of MS.  I also had some nasuea again, which I had previously blamed on the LDN. Now I think it might be because of the Janumet. Who knows? I did take a wonderful nap and was able to drive us home tonight.Mike played in a disc golf tournament in the Prairie Rose State Games (ND tournament modeled after the Olympics) held in Fargo. He took third place and brought home the bronze medal. He was one point away from 2nd. He enjoyed the competition and thanked me for allowing him to go. Lately he thanks me for 'LETTING/ALLOWING him to play disc golf or enter a tournament. I don't get it. Am I so controlling or so helpless that he feels that he can't go unless I give him permission? I have never given him 'permission'. He just says, "I think I'll try to get in a round of golf." and I say, "Okay, good luck."
