I was able to sleep in until nearly 10:00 a.m. due to being sick. A sub took over for me today. After getting up and moving around a bit, I discovered I was a lot sicker that yesterday--raw throat; coughing that burns my throat and trachea; extreme fatigue; voice has dropped about two octaves; difficulty breathing. After determining that one day at home wasn't going to do it and thinking about what students could do tomorrow that would be educational, productive, and something a sub could handle, I called in sick for tomorrow.
Went up to the school this evening and prepared things for the sub as well as updated some grades.
It was an absolutely gorgeous day outside today! Couldn't resist taking advantage of the wonderful weather by washing two loads of towels and hanging them out to dry. Finally getting caught up with the laundry!
I'm not behind on my online class, but am not 'keeping up/ahead' like I've done in the past. Tomorrow I'll write my journal entry and post it for the online class and hopefully start this week's written assignment. After this week, the class will be half done! Yay!
I need to finish the minutes for our collaborative bargaining meeting and email them off to both parties. Fortunately, the legislature finally decided that education needs a lot more money--so we should be receiving some badly needed raises--maybe then we won't still be 49th or 50th out of all states where salary is concerned.
Jack received a 3rd place medal for the Cadet Challenge in ROTC. He was 3rd overall (out of the high school)and he was pretty happy. He also shot a 37 in golf today and will be going to Walhalla for a golf meet on Saturday.
Jack's grades were fairly decent--C- in math, but in all else, A's and B's. I hope he can keep this up.
Not much school left--around 4 weeks and a few days. I am anxious for the year to end--it has been a very long school year, but have had great classes for the most part. I am just so tired.
