Today was not so red hot in terms of how I reacted to the Avonex. Perhaps I took the shot too late last night? At any rate, I felt so tired, achy, and just overall kind of rotten all day. I am so glad that I have my 'Mondays' off so that I don't have to work when these side effects get nasty.

Yesterday my husband and I drove to Mandan to see our son. He is in a correctional facility there and even though we were told he was there for therapuetic purposes and would receive an evaluation, this is not the case.

Nevertheless, he appears to be doing well and taking things in stride. He can't have any facial hair so the beard had to go (I like him so much better without the beard). He is on a very structured routine, has been de-caffeniated, goes to bed early, has 'jobs' or chores he must do each day, and will be receiving schooling starting today.

So...while I really miss him...I can't help but think that the structured environment he is currently in is what he needs. I don't know how much longer he will be there. A month? two? Anyone's guess.

I enjoyed my visit with my son yesterday. It was good to see him smile again! He smiles so little. I only hope that my husband and myself can do for him what he needs when he gets home. The structure (very tight structure) that he really benefits from will be difficult for us given our jobs and activities, but we can do it if we really try. We have to...for our child.
