Finally....have something to write about again. Went to a picnic Saturday, and saw some friends that I haven't seen in a long, long time! Of course, it wore me out, but it was worth every bit of it. Talked to someone that has had 14 back surgeries, and now has something like an internal tens unit...don't know exactly what it's called. A chip is implanted, and a remote with an antenna is used to control the strength of the 'zap' from the unit. My friend has had a morphine pump for years, and said the chip is giving more pain relief than the pump! Am checking into this....I know different things work for different people, but if it gives some relief, that would be wonderful! The picnic was great...lots of good food. It was a memorial picnic for a friend that had passed away 5 years ago from cancer. Her family was invited, and several of them were there. We had a 'memory moment' for her, and a few others that are no longer here, also. The oldest one there was 83, and the youngest was 2! Lots in between! And someone had a great idea-a sign-in book was passed around for addresses, birthdays, and whatever else anyone wanted to write, and then it was passed around yesterday to all the email addresses listed. Great idea! We're already planning to make an annual event picnic in memory of Martha, and some other friends that are no longer here with us. I know their spirit still is with all of us!

So glad you had a good time at this \'event\'!!!What a sweet idea to make it an annual thing in memory of Martha. I\'m sure she was smiling down on all of you and even in spirit was there among each and every one.

it is a electric nerve stimulator and seems to work for some.... at least it doesn\'t run on GAS. Glad you had fun...wish you didn\'t have to pay for it though xxx

ive read about this unit too ,like camiam says ,its meant to stimulate the nerve endings and halt the pain ,has had good results here too ,but is in the early stages.
I know how you feel though ,whenever i read or hear about a new \"cure\" for our back aches and pains ,i think i wonder??sure has to be better than all the pain meds ,morphine in particular isnt pleasant ,i know ,as ive been on it for over 6 years now ,and the efficiancy soon wears off!blah!
the picnic sounded like fun ,im so glad you were able to get out and enjoy yourself ,sometimes just an afternoon or a day ,away from our own 4 walls ,can really give us a lift.Good idea about the boook too ,and more likely that people will do it again ,and keep in touch!
Take care of yourself ,am thinking of you ,much love my friend ,and tons of gentle hugs ,sharon xoxoxoxo
