Which way is up?

Ooooh, for the second time in six weeks I have had a sudden episode of being really sick.

It starts with a mild headache and my sugar drops to around 3 (55mg), which isn't too bad. Then I get dizzy and have cold sweats and shakes, and I think "Hey, I'm having a hypo". Wrong! The diziness gets really bad and the headache worsens; it's like my head is inside a fire engine siren! I'm so disorientated I can't stand up, resembling the loser at an all-the-beer-you-can-drink contest. By this time with all the symptoms gathering speed and in the space of about half an hour I'm well.... enjoying a view of my bathroom that I'd sooner forget! pg_433545107.jpg

First time it lasted about half a day, but luckily my sister happened to call by and took me to hospital where they guessed it was Labyrinthitis and prescribed pills to stop me being sick. Thing is I was fine the following day, apart from feeling like I'd been beaten up, so maybe it wasn't Labyrinthitis after all (as that is supposed to last for weeks or even months).

This time around it was more severe and lasted longer and all I could do was curl up on the bathroom floor for the best part of a day until the nausea had subsided enough for me to go and lie down in bed.

I ruled out food-poisoning as I didn't have any other 'gastric distress' other than being sick, and I'd eaten differently on the previous ocassion.  I also thought the low sugar was just a side effect rather than the cause. Migrane was also out - haven't suffered with that since I was 10, besides my whole head was in retreat from the world, not just half of it. Did I call the doctor? No. Bad as it was it didn't feel life threatening, and besides looking for the phone number and making the call would have meant standing up!

So, we'll put this down to my body having a bit of a tantrum, giving me a whole raft of unpleasant sensations to see how I cope and make me appreciate how good it is to not feel ill the day after.
