Have sent some feedback to Daily Strength asking if they might consider adding a community for sufferers of Dupuytren's Contracture. It's featuring a lot in my life right now, not least because I almost underwent surgery for it without being told the true story of what the impact would have been... like 2-6 months rehab! Would be great to chat with fellow sufferers to hear about their experiences.

sorry, but never heard of this. what type of disease is it? 2-6 months rehab? damn, that\'s hard! I\'ll b prayin 4 you!:)
Am about to have the surgery. The outlook is haing my hand/arm in plaster for 3 weeks, then having my hand in a splint for 6 weeks with physiotherapy every week, followed by exercise until I get full use of my hand back. Quite daunting but it has to be done. The alternative is they start amputating my fingers! That\'s not going to happen cos I\'m too attached to them =:o)
Have had the surgery and been in plaster for 2 weeks with one more week to go. After that I\'ll have a splint for 6 weeks and regular physio sessions to help regain use of my hand. I must say, just getting the plaster off will be a relief! The surgeon said the operation went well, but that the disease had already spread beyond the scope of the procedure he carried out. As it is also already present in my other hand, it\'s likely I\'ll be seeing him again in the near future. Best to take it one day at a time I think and really work at the rehab regime when that starts =:o)
