50th Wedding Vow Renewal Today

I just officiated the 50th wedding anniversary of a couple of friends of mine.  She grew up a quarter of a mile across the field from me and we went through first grade all the way to high school.  The guy she married was a cousin of mine.  His grand-dad and my grand-mother were brother and sister.  I have known them both close to 60 years or more.
They had a bunch of their kids, grand-kids- and great-grand-kids there.  We had some of their kids speak and they recited personal vows to each other, in my little country church, where we all went together as kids.
The amazing thing about this is, that my dad was the preacher who married them, 50 years ago.  I am glad to have the honor to do this and we had a wonderful time of remembering, joking and teasing one another.
