My journey started with not feeling too well June 5. I came home from work about 9 pm. My back hurt on the left side so I went to bed. The next morning my back hurt still as well as my chest/ribcage. On my way to the Primary Health Urgent Care my left shoulder started hurting and I thought I was having a heart attack. The doctor sent me to the hospital for a d dimer to rule out blood clots so we could proceed from there. He didn't think that I had them because I had no shortness of breath. I went to the hospital had blood drawn and waited for an hour for the results. In the mean time the nurse called from the urgent care and said I had a partially collapsed lung and to go home and rest. Went home and was laying on the bed telling my husband something was really not right. Fell asleep for about 45 minutes when the nurse called me back and said go to the ER immediately as my d dimer was 1.1(under .5 is negative) Went in and the eventually sent me in for a CAT scan. Multiple bilateral embolism small clot load. The ER doctor also was surprised I had them because I wasn't having trouble breathing. He said he felt good about my stable condition put me on Xarelto and told me to follow up with my GP. Sent me on my way after about 3 hours. No restrictions. I went to work the next day. Then I started looking stuff up online and about had a heart attack!! Never did I feel anyone told me how serious this was. That was when the anxiety and extreme fatigue kicked in yet I would take long walks and work because no one told me anything and I was afraid to rest or sit for more than 15 minutes.I Dropped 8 pounds in 4 days. Went to see my doctor in the urgent care 2 days later and he said six months and was pretty casual about it. Saw a pulmonologist a month later who asked a series of questions and agreed with the six months. She was casual about it as well.  I don't know why I want everyone to freak out. Although any other medical person I run across does freak out and I want to put them in a headlock. After a month of my GP telling me I will be okay I am accepting coming off blood thinners for blood tests I go to the Cardilogist for an echo and treadmill tests and he kinda goes off about not stopping the blood thinners. Saying the new ones are safe enough to stay on and to get a second opinion... Arghhh....sometimes I wish I would have been admitted to the hospital to have all the doctors advise me at once. I feel as though I have been piecing my care together from the knowledge I have gotten from this website.  To be continued...
