5 years
Today its been 5 years since my beautiful boy was called home. How how I miss him. Today went well, surprisingly. It helped to have made plans earlier in the week. I got to see my foster sister, what a blessing she is. We had appetizers and a couple drinks, along with laughter and tears. I'm grateful that she's in my life. Only get to see each other a couple times a year so today was very special. She asked what the funniest memory of Brandon under 10 yrs old is. It felt AMAZING to tell her of the funnies!!! That really, ouside of FMO moms, is the FIRST time someone asked me a specific question about him. It made my heart happy to be able to share that with her. We laughed and laughed!!! Our funny amazing kids. Thankful for all those wonderful memories. Today was a heart wrenching and good day all rolled into love❤

Lisa, so very happy the talking of Brandon brought smiles and laughter for you. It is amazing out good it feels to talk of our children. I still marvel that others in my life do not. They do it on facebook at different times and it hurts and makes me please too. Crazy. Peace to you today . Kathy Jennifer and Marissa's MOM
Your sister knew just what to ask, didn't she?! Anytime our children's names are spoken it is a healing balm for our souls. There is a take away in your journal in remembering to ask one another these kinds of questions about our children. Thank YOU for that!
I will never forget when it was five years for me and my former priest and very dear friend said, "Five minutes, five days, five weeks, five years, five decades. It's all the same in the heart of a mother. I believe he captured what each of us feels no matter how many years it has been.
I was thinking of you Lisa, and hoping you felt lovingly held by your sisters of the heart.
Hand in hand, Heart to heart with love to Brandon's mom from Douglas and me.

OH to be asked....and know they WANT to know the answer and truly HEAR it!!!! What a gift indeed! I'm sure Brandon was laughing along with y'all!
And I agree with JJ....the more we share what speaks to our hearts, the more we're helping each other learn. Thank you for reminding me to ask specific questions! We don't always openly share until someone cares enough to ask.
Tight heart hugs and lots of LOVE to you and Brandon from me and Kala!!
We often forget that we even need this...at least I do. My kids don't talk about him much to me...they do not want to upset me...but I know that feeling of being asked to share...it makes my heart swell with joy. I am glad you were able to have that with your sister...very special!
Gentle care.
