5 year review

I had my 5 year review at work and got a nice raise! My boss made me sound so good I al...ALMOST cried. He made me feel like a princess! He kept saying to me that I don't give myself enough credit. Well, I thought about that for a day and went to my coworker Ed, who I have the utmost respect for and love dearly in a coworker, plutonic, brother sort of way. I told him about the wonderful review and how much I love our company. So he asked where do I see myself in the company in 5 years? This is actually something that I have been pondering for awhile now so the answer came out before I even knew I was giving up my secret dream. I work for a trasportation company. We specialize in the transprtation of seriously mentally ill people. It is not a cab sevice. All of our passengers have serious issues. We do this in our nation's 5th largest city, Phoenix. Now Phoenix, if you've never been here, is sprawling. While a lot of cities grow up, we grow out. You can live here all your life and still not know how to maneuver about the entire valley so when we hire drivers it is very difficult for them and a lot of them quit out of frustration. It costs our company a LOT of money to hire people and train them, pee test them, get the FBI fingerprint card, teach them CPI & CPR just to have them quit  because they don't know the freeway system. So this is what I want my new job to be. Well, that's half of it. I want to be the trainer. We have a trainer who trains everyone who comes in the door in a classroom situation but I want to be the one on one. My company does not currently offer this position and to be honest, it would not be a fulltime job so I found another company weakness that I could help with. My program transports children with behavior issues and some of our parents are so frustrated because they can never get ahold of a manager or a supervisor on the phone and they always are having issues with the drivers so I could be the parent advocate. This would be so perfect for me. I could go out to the homes and meet the parents that I have been speaking to for years on the phone and get with the case managers and oh my goodness I'm so excited! So back to Ed. He is very educated. Too educated to be working for us but he loves what we do so he intends to be there forever and the president and VP respect him a lot. So Ed told me that if I write an outline he will make it sound professional and help me give the company the offer.  Pray for me please!
