These programs can help them build the confidence they need to come out of that. It also is great for teaching them discipline and structure.

Social

When you have shy kids, sometimes playdates and social gatherings can be hard for them. As a parent, we can struggle to find the right ways to help them overcome this. Martial arts is a wonderful program to get them involved in.

They will meet new people from different places. They will be branching out from just the kids they go to school with. Taking these classes can help them slowly evolve from being so shy and help them to get more involved.

Confidence

Not having confidence in yourself will not help you to grow and branch out. Learning a new life skill about self-defense can help boost a child's confidence. They will get involved and learn valuable life skills.

When kids have confidence in themselves they are happy and have more fun. They are able to motivate themselves to achieve more things. Making them feel like they can branch out and try more things also.

Goal Setting

Martial arts is all about learning new skills and perfecting them to work your way up to the next belt color. Giving the kids something to work for and look forward to. They will set a goal for themselves and work for it. Giving them the feeling of accomplishment when they reach their goal.

Setting goals for yourself is important to keep you motivated. Kids and adults should do it. When you have a point that you want to reach when you set a goal of doing it you are more likely to work hard for it.

Fitness

Taking martial arts classes is hard work. It takes a lot of body strength to learn and do a lot of the moves. It keeps your kids moving and not sitting and watching tv. They will be working hard and building strength doing something they love.

They will be building muscle tone, improving their reflexes, and building strength and power. This also goes back to building confidence in themselves and what they can accomplish. Martial arts are great for improving your posture in your everyday activities as well.

Respect

The lessons they learn in martial arts are very valuable. They will learn acceptance of others and respect. Learning to uplift one another and help each other reach their goals. That one lesson is very important for kids to learn. To be involved in a sport that teaches so much more than just physical aspects is awesome.

The kids are to show respect to the instructors and their fellow classmates. It is at the same time teaching them to respect themselves. They will be having fun and learning all at the same time.
