Been a few weeks since I did a journal, guess I lost track of the time. But no worries I'm still here! I just don't come on as much as I did a few years ago, but I'm still around.
Okay, so I don't remember if I posted about the computer job, but unfortunately that didn't work out, he was a start-up company and he wanted someone with more experience if he did hire someone on. But he also said since it was a startup he was on a budget and really couldn't afford to hire someone on. That's okay I've gotten a few other job leads after that I can check out later next week after the holiday weekend.
I also took a major step and started my own business! I've gotten so tired of job hunting and not finding a job I took the first step to making my own way, everyone that knows me knows I'm very independent and when I put my mind to something I usually finish it. I think I posted in the past about the bed I bought and put together myself, I also restored an old wagon by myself, like a lawn mower wagon, not a big farm wagon lol. Well you get the idea...
Well I suppose a business is more complicated, but the same premise, you build something, and you make it work, and its yours. I won't put my business name for obvious reasons, but what I can say is it is a real estate investing business. Its something I've been interested in for a longtime other then computers. And its a good alternative if I don't think computers are what's in my future.
Now its not a real estate agency, like selling houses and all. Its more of buying houses from banks, run down houses, and fixing them up and reselling them, as long as there isn't too much to invest. I like restoring things so I think it fits me well. I may also keep a few houses to rent to people, but I'm not sure.
I went through all the paperwork to make it official, and I opened a business account, so I'm pretty set to go. I did hit a big snag already lol, I talked to my advisor at the bank and I don't qualify for a mortgage. So my business is on hold for just a bit until I can get a co-signer or get a job to prove income, but really that defeats my purpose of starting my business. I do have enough for a down payment and if I can prove I have tenants to rent to, I'm not sure how that's not proof, but whatever. Just a setback, that's all.
I think I can find a way to get my first property, bank properties are cheap and run down, so that could be one way, as long as I resell it fast for a profit. There's also grants to rebuild communities, as long as I use it to restore the house. So there's options for my business.
Knowing myself I usually find a way to fix problems, or I eventually get to where I want to be when I put my mind to it. It is really true if you put your mind to something you can do it and nothing can stop you! Not even a mortgage! lol...
So anyway I took the first step, and even if it takes another six months, a year, or two years, the business will be waiting for me! And once I get my first property there should be no looking back.
Not much else going on, except still job hunting for now, business is a work in progress...Still mowing at grandma's. We did loose power yesterday for like 6 hours! It was really hot too with no A/C, it was about 85 degrees! So that was horrible lol.
Think that's all for now, take care all, I'll post again soon.
