5/13/12 10w2d preggers! Happy Mother's Day!

First off, I am sooo happy to be celebrating Mother's Day this year! :D I got the best Mother's Day present ever! I got to hear my baby's heartbeat for the first time via Doppler! I was at my mother's house yesterday and I took my Doppler with me and she was trying to help me find the h/b and we THOUGHT we heard it. What we heard I believe was the pulsing of the placenta cause it was too fast to be mine then too slow to be the baby's. It was around 120bpm. So, this morning I drank a cup of coffee (lol) thinking the baby would move to where I could find it and make the heart rate a little faster. After about 10-15 mins I finally found it! It was muffled but it was just a-beating away! The difference b/t the placenta and the baby is that the placenta sounded like a soft whooshing noise, and the baby sounded like a little choo choo train. It melted my heart away when I heard it and Pablo got to hear it too :D. So I am assuming I have an anterior placenta (where the placenta is attached to the front wall of the uterus instead of the back wall.... hiding the baby) It doesn't affect the pregnancy in any way. Unless, it is blocking the cervix at delivery it can cause some risksĀ  such as the placenta being delivered first and then while the baby is still inside the birth canal, it will lose it's blood and air supply. If that's the case they will perform a c-section. But, most of the time the placenta will move upwards with the uterus when it grows. I am just so happy to know that the baby is still there and alive. I only got 3 more weeks and I will be out of the woods! Such a big milestone! So only 11 days till my next prenatal appt! I'm started to get excited, but of course I'm still going to stay nervous until we reach the 13 weeks mark. :D So I wish everyone a Happy Mother's Day and hope all goes well!
