a 2nd journal entry? in one night? no way! yeah, i'm posting again. this time i'm posting about one of my heroes. i just got back from hanging out with my friend sharon and her husband. i call her sharon, but you all know her as Dr. Orrange, as she's one of our medical advisors. (dr. jeremy, our resident pediatrician, is also a good friend). i will admit that i've got a doctor fetish...while i never really wanted to be a doctor, i'm fascinated by the skill and power that they wield, and the massive depth of knowledge that they seem to instantly recall about any of gazillions of things that can go wrong with a person. anyway, sharon and her husband are both great people, and great friends. we know most of our friends here in LA through our kids, and so we don't get alot of exposure to what they do when they're not chasing a 3-year-old down the street. so when i see sharon in action, such as tonight when she diagnosed a friend's finger and a minor rash i have within seconds, i just think it's like the coolest thing ever. i can talk about web design and i guess i have some knowledge about other stuff, but i just can't get enough of seeing sharon (or jeremy) go from just shooting the shit with me and all of the sudden turn into "medical mode" where they start throwing out the fancy terms and fixing people's problems. it's very cool. i get this same sensation when talking to cyndi and julie, our resident therapists, and lee and chrissy as well...i know these folks just as friends, and then they turn on this intellectual side which is just awesome. it's late, i'm not sure what i'm saying anymore, except to say that it's good to have friends that impress you.
