A quick update for my 2 (yes, i've added one) goals: 1) Ran this morning (2.4 miles)...had to walk a bit, but no back/leg pain, which is good. Would like to do it again later this week. 2) Started a new goal about my nailbiting, which has gotten outta hand. I'd chalk it up to a nervous habit, but i've been doing it for so long that now it seems like i just bite my nails whenever i have nothing better to do with my hands. i've tried a bunch of stuff - icky-tasking stuff on my fingernails, finding a trinket to play with instead of biting, etc. - but nothing's ever stuck. It's funny - when I see other folks doing it, I see how disgusting and gross it is...but then I catch myself doing it, often involuntarily, just a few minutes later. Here's how it works (not that complicated): My "Progress" is a simple 1-10 score for each of my 10 nails, as to how "bitten" it is versus how "manicured" it should be. As I write this, my score is basically 4 out of a possible 100 - meaning, i couldn't scratch you if i wanted to. SERIOUSLY...on this one i need the help and support of my friends...send over those hugs if you got em, because I really, really want to beat this habit. I know this isn't as serious as other issues that I and others on DS are facing, but it's one that I just want to end already. I'm 37 years old...time to just be stronger.

I know you can do it.
When I was a kid I bit my nails until they bled! My Mom tried everything....but, one day, I just stopped. I know it has to do with nerves...but, I am still nervous. I wish I knew what made me stop....
Hang in there....you can do it.
I envy you your energy to be so active. I wish I still had it.
Take care, my dear one. LOVE YOU!!
Hugs,
