there's one thing i always forget when i think of the holidays:having kids out of school for 2 weeks straight is TOUGH.it's good in the sense that i've had some great times with my kids, and also had the chance to exercise and hang out with the wife a fair bit, which is good all around. but as a Dad (and as we all know, Dads like to PLAN things), i'm running a bit low on tricks. did the Zoo with Z (who was obsessed with POOP, probably the result of years of my potty humor), did Kidspace, went for a hike, hung out with the few other loser non-travelling friends over Xmas, and did the requisite family time.as i've said in the past, non-work life is great. work life is stressful, which is why this break is welcome.so i'm going to compile a list of New Year's Resolutions over the next few days. here's a few random ones, which i'll whittle down to a final list that i'll share with y'all:1. Talk less shit about others. Appreciate the goodness.2. Discipline my eating.3. Beat old habits (stop biting nails!)4. Take time to just breathe. Don't always be in a hurry.5. Invest time in a non-work passion. There's plenty more...that list took 5 seconds to build.OK, it's late and I'm on breakfast duty (see, poop jokes again) for the kids. Adios.

lol. I agree that these two weeks is hard especially when little ones like yours. Just think you can look forward to a whole summer of this coming up. Love your goals so far. Stopping the nail biting, good idea. Breathe another good idea. Take care, Elaine

1. Who doesn\'t like poop?
2. LAUSD=kids home for three weeks. Very, very harrowing.
