Hello friends. Here's a first...I have a favor to ask of all of you.As you know, we provide DailyStrength for free. We much prefer the idea of advertisers paying for DS than you, our valued friends and members. Perhaps more importantly, we get tremendous joy out of providing this service to you, and your emails of encouragement sustain us and motivate us to work even harder.Today, however, I want you to join the DS Army.  Over the course of the last year, we've seen the power of DS's support groups succeed over and over again - we are now 120,000 strong. We have countless emails from folks who have overcome depression, bad relationships, received help with disease and pain management...heck, we just had the first DS baby born by a woman who had struggled with infertility for years. We don't want to take the credit for these brave folks - they did it all on their own. Rather, I look at DS as the gathering place, the starting point, and the inspirational kick-in-the-pants for many folks to get going on healing themselves and helping others. So, today we've launched "badges" - http://dailystrength.org/badges/ - and we're hoping you'll help us spread the word about DS and help us help others. Badges are simple images that you can place in your email, on a web page, message board or blog, or anywhere online that others can see and then check out. We've posted instructions in case you need some help, but it shouldn't be too hard. Our theory is simple: Let's all help the most people possible. We want the DS Army to reach out and find others who suffer, wherever they may be, and bring them into our arms where we can be their friend, their comfort and their partner in healing and overcoming challenges.So...are you with us?http://dailystrength.org/badges/

I, for one, am definitely with you, partner! We\'re all excited to see DS badges papered around the web. Maybe we need bumperstickers next?!

Hi Doug,
Will you let me post your journal on HeartStrings. I\'ve mentioned the badges, but I\'d like the HeartStrings friends to hear it from you. I also want you to check out HeartStrings. Sound like a good idea? You have my full support.

Thanks Doug, I think this is a great idea and I have added it as my email signature. This site has been amazing for me and a great way to share compassion. Hugs, Shelly

Only one problem, if I attach the badge to my email then all my friends will check me out on this site and there is no way I would want my nearest and dearest to know these thoughts that I am able to get off my chest on here. Sorry.

DONE. Posted it on my MySpace page under \"HEROS\". How poetic ... and perfect. The people of the Breakups and Divorce Community were and still are instrumental to my healing and overcoming Domestic Violence. This is also in memory of SnowBaby, lest we forget her (Liz.You are pinned to my heart FOREVER) a wonderful woman who died at the hands of her husband -- leaveing three children behind. I for one will never forget her and her great courage and wisdom!

I agree with SuzySoo - good idea but anonymity is why I joined the site to begin with. If there is a chance that the site will be closed if there is no advertising, then I will re-think, but all the other sites I am a member of don\'t need commercials. And if you are renting space, where does the money go??? Just curious
