Wow, is it hot.I suppose it gets this hot every year, but now that we all have global warming on the brain, I sweat through every day feeling like it's an unnatural hot that is just a foreshadowing of our future. The kids stayed with C's mom and dad on sunday in the valley...where it was 110 degrees when we picked them up earlier today. Over here, near the water, it's a soothing 90, which is very hot considering we almost never use our A/C.Anyway, enough about the weather...here's to hoping it cools off.Spent some time cruising around DS tonight, and I'm feeling empowered by the fascinating stories of perseverance and determination that are all over the site. I've been watching the Friends / Families Affected By Suicide community with awe...these people are so brave to pick up the pieces and be able to move on...sometimes I'm not sure I could do the same. But there they are, writing these tragic stories and then signing off to go about their lives just like the rest of us, but with this little painful part of them that never goes away. Something about it is inspring to me.Otherwise, the big news in our lives is the forthcoming start of school for BOTH kids - K to elementary school, and C to preschool...as much as I'd like to deny it, it's a pretty big moment to see your daughter off to big girl school, and I find myself mixed with the same emotions as any parent...pride and yet pain at the increasing independence of our little girl. Hope y'all had a nice Labor Day weekend. Next time I post it better be cooler.d

Hello dear, haven\'t been on Daily Strength for so long. I\'m thinking of joining the Friends/Families Affected By Suicide Community. I thank you so much for helping to create this Support Site.

It\'s been a scorcher all right! It\'s a good thing a friend of mine has a big pool. It was a nice cool 86 degrees in the water. I want to thank you and the team for creating all those new communities recently. Take care, Oli

It\'s finally nice here on the east coast after a very hot and humid season! I don\'t know about the weather as it relates to gobal warmimg but, interesting and certainly uncomfortable!

BTW~Doug, I\'m not all that comfortable with the new site design and my activity open for the world to see so, I changed my account so it just friends. I wasn\'t aware we had the option to to so, just like we make our journals. Do you think you could make this option known to every one? I only knew because someone good with programming figured it out.

thsnld in advance. Try to stay cool!
