a piece of great news just occurred to me.

my son hasn't had a seizure in about 6 months.

this is wonderful. as you may recall from previous posts, z had had 3 seizures in the last cold season (they were all fever related febrile seizures), but this year only 1. i'm guessing that's because a) he got sick alot less (we were nuts about that), and b) supposedly kids grow out of seizures.

it's one of the scariests thing a parent can see, and i'm glad to know that those memories are (for now) fading away. phew.

Z is the absolute cutest, and we\'re thrilled that he\'s doing so well. Keeping him away from others who were sick. I believe, helped.

My son had febrile seizures also. Scariest thing I have ever seen. My son\'s treshold mark was 103\'F. He never had one after the age of three. He was always a honor student-now is 26 yrs. old and a lawyer graduating at the top of his class. Seizures didn\'t hurt him permanently. He tells friends they jumpstarted his brain-Ha Ha!! Your boy will be just find. Congratulations.

My 16yr old son has had seizures since he was born. He has several disablities, but he has Epilepsy, so he is on meds and has an implant in his chest that sends electrical current to his brain to help stop the seizures. My youngest son 8yr, started having seizures when he was 18months old. His first seizure he stopped breathing and I had to give CPR. It was one of the scariest days of my life! We were told they were Atypical Febrile Seizures and he too would grow out of them. He has had approx. 10 now. As soon as we even THINK he feels warm we start the Ibuprofen/Tylenol every 2 hours! But we are sure he has outgrown them because we get so paranoid over every little fever..LOL He calls us the fever police!!
