i'm back in town...and utterly exhausted. had 3 straight days of back-to-back meetings in NYC, and i stupidly kept my West Coast schedule, so i'd go to sleep at 2AM, only to be up for a meeting at 7. i've got the formation of a cold, and, perhaps more odd, i'm nauseous for the first time in a long time. i think it's just sheer exhaustion.
meanwhile, and far more important, i'm home. i didn't get to see zade tonight, as he was asleep before my plane landed, but he felt cooler to the touch. i think we'll bring him in to bed tonight, and cho's trying anything she can to get him to take some motrin (he absolutely refuses to take any medication...and simply spits out anything given to him orally). she bought a pill crusher and we're going to put medicine in ice cream or milke or something...anything to bring down that fever. and now we have to be absolute freaks anytime sickness enters our house...remember, he had 3 seizures last winter, and this is only november.
i still hold my belief that the seizures are harmless, as i haven't seen any medical evidence to the contrary...so while they're scary, they're also just becoming a part of our lives. obviously, i hope that this doesn't turn into epilepsy and he simply grows out of it, as many kids do. the other frustrating part of this is that it seems difficult, if not impossible, to actually prevent the seizures, as we're often not even aware he's hot by the time he has the seizure, or even if we are, i'm not convinced that medication will prevent the seizure.
whatever happens, it'll definitely be stressful. i'm already a bit of a nut about hanging out with sick kids, and i think i'm going to become a Nazi about that...obviously, we'll have sickness in our house this winter, but we're too sloppy about just saying no or avoiding an event when we know someone is sick there.
kaya gave me the biggest hug tonight when i got home and told me how much she missed me...and that made up for most of my current misery. she told me about dinner with anna, and she was very excited about the present i got her (although she wondered why i didn't bring her the chocolates i had promised). then we sang Sound Of Music songs and she went to bed.
it's good to be home.

WELCOME HOME Doug. I can only imagine how relieved you and Cho are that your home and Zade seems better. Hope you and you continue to improve.
hugs
Judy
Yes, welcome home!! Two tips-one, that Zicam REALLY WORKS for zapping a virus-got me through Thanksgiving--Also, call your son\'s doctor and see if you can get the ibuprofen suppositories--I had to resort to those when my youngest son refused to take anything and vomited it all up. I sneaked them in his sleep ( I know, how rude, lol) He would run horrendous fevers too. Worth a try. If he hates them really bad, the medicine might begin to look better to him! Take care and you are in my prayers. Robbin
Glad your home...Take care of yourself! I recommend the suppositories too. I found they really do the trick. Prayers are with you! Lollie
YAY you\'re back with your family again...hug them especially tight for me! Lots of love!
JUST CK\'N IN ON YOU.
