I\'m sorry you weren\'t able to be with Zade. How old is he? How long has he been having seizures. I\'ve recently read about how much epilepsy is helped by a gluten free diet. Something you may want to check into. It helps lessen the severity and the amount of medicine that is needed to bring the child back from it. The book was \"Dangerous Grains\" but there is also some stuff online.

our son kevin (now 2.5yrs old) had some febrile siezures, we learned with him at least, it was/is all about controlling the rise and fall of his temp not that actually temp itself (just the swing in temp). so after the first one we learned that as soon as he started to look like he was having a fever and showed a just above normal temp we gave him a tylenol based fever reducer. turns out that for him it didn\'t act as fast or work as well at normalizing his temp. after the second one we switched to a ibuprofen fever reducer and that worked very well for him. it seems also the first day of his fevers is the worst, if we can control the temp swings via medicine he gets through it without any seizure.
it\'s also been said that after two or three seizures they\'re statistically less apt to get them anymore, but each kid is different.
my heart goes out to you old friend, we experienced his first seizure on vacation in a small unfamiliar italian seaside town in july... and i thought he was dying, freaked out and drove very quickly to the emergency center, we really had no idea other than to cool him off which seemed logical at the time.
