4th Day
It's the 4th day of being out of a job. I hope this doesn't become a series of days. There has been some good news. My former boss called to tell me the company will extend my health insurance through the end of the month. They'd cut it off Monday. The job hunt is showing good signs. I joined an online job center and have had 2 hits. The first is a cash store managment position with a starting salary about $7,000 more per year than I've been making. The second is from an insurance company for a sales position. That one I may bypass because every sales job I've tried has lead to starvation. And I got a hit from the unemployment office site. It's a job in a call center in a small town about 25 minutes from my house. It's starting salary is about what I've been making. Plus, the benefit package would start on the first day of employment. I've decided to cash in my company retirement instead of rolling it over into an IRA. There's not much left in it since I had to borrow most of it during my financial crisis and the company stock that was contributed on a two for one schedule has tanked. Most of the money left is my money withheld from my paychecks. Probably will put it in my savings account. So, things are looking up. I'll continue to search online. My big problems right now are getting on a sleep schedule and finding stuff to do around the house. I'm averaging about 4 hours of sleep, but I doze off in the afternoons. After knocking around the house the last few days, retirement seems to would be a great big bore. Your prayers are helping me. I've always depended on God for my wellbeing and it looks like He's not going to fail me now. He is my Rock and I give him the praise and thanks.
