Today is Monday, July 30, 2007.  Quite some time ago when I first announced my good news and shared my excitement, it was brought to my attention that while it may be a great thing for me; it was at the same time very saddening and hurtful to other members of Daily Strength.  As a result I chose to stop updating my journal on a regular basis.  Since then, I have come to the realization that if it is too hurtful for others to read then they have the option of just not reading it; but by neglecting my journal I was only hurting myself.  So anyway, here’s what has occurred over the past 21 days….On Tuesday, July 17, 2007 I went in for my first Ultrasound and Pre-Natal check-up.  I had my Ultrasound done and according to the measurements taken and the results, the baby was 7 weeks 0 days old with a heartbeat of 130.  Thus began my worrying….  Why did I worry??  Because according to the first day of my LMP I had figured that I should have been 8 weeks 2 days.  I couldn’t help but think, “Oh God here I go again.  This is exactly what happened last time.  Last time I should have been further along than what the ultrasound showed but I wasn’t and things went downhill from there.”  So anyway needless to say I was on edge.  I got in and saw my OB/GYN and she reassured me that in her opinion everything looked good.  Then she did something that my old yahoo of an OB/GYN never did.  She said, “Why don’t you come back next week and we’ll do another Ultrasound to check on how things have progressed and to ease your mind.  Again, needless to say I was more than happy to abide and I scheduled my appointment for the following Tuesday. On Tuesday, July 24, 2007 I went in for my follow-up Ultrasound and check-up.  Thankfully, I am able to say that the measurements taken and the results of this round showed that the baby’s development had progressed.  As of last Tuesday I was 8 weeks and 3 days along, and the baby’s heartbeat had jumped up to 160.  I am still feeling totally wiped out and nauseated beyond belief but I am just thankful that as of right now things still seem to be moving along….  If you don’t mind, please keep me and the little pea pod in your thoughts and prayers and know that I’ll always be thinking of and praying for you….  Take care of and be good to yourself…. GinaP.S.  Oh and while I totally and completely realize that this may be information overload, I just had to share the newest medical condition to strike my body in case there are other totally naïve women like me out there.  Although I have never in my life experienced a YI, guess what….  I have had the pleasure of being blessed with my first.  Apparently as a pregnant woman, you are much more susceptible to this type of infection and boy has it sucked.  First of all, as a result of being pregnant I am not able to be treated for the infection in pill form which means those wonderfully yucky cream and secondly; either I’m allergic to Monistat OR it is just way to harsh for me because it caused more trouble than it was worth.  As a result I have had to resort to a medicated cream that my good ole Doctor called into the pharmacy.  Oh how humiliating this whole things has been but OH WELL!!!!  Hopefully this will give someone out there the heads up that I didn’t have.  Again, take care….

Glad you are doing well. Please keep us posted. I know some on here do get a little sad to hear when others are pregnant, but for the most part even if they are sad they are not they are happy and encouraged when other are. I know that is how I felt before I was pregnant. I will be praying for you and that little one.
