Today is Tuesday, March 13, 2007 continued
Today I followed my same old routine when it came to getting my daughter ready for and off to school, however today was everything but typical. While waiting for the teachers to come out she broke down into tears and started sobbing, Mommy, I dont want to go to school. I just want to go home with you. I had her sit in my lap; I caressed her and I then told her that she was going to have so much fun with her friends. I then asked her if her cold was bugging her and when she said yes I asked if she wanted me to call the Doctor. She nodded her head yes and so after settling her down and dropping her off, I put a call into the Pediatrician. Lo and behold they wanted to see her which frustrated me a bit due to the fact that I was convinced that all that she had was a cold but I went ahead with their wishes. So anyway, I went back to school early, pulled her out of classes and took her to the Docs office. Now here comes the, You know you really shouldnt doubt your Docs office when they ask to see you and/or your child part. It turns out that my daughter has a nasty ear infection and her first ever for that matter. She hasnt complained of any pain but then again maybe it just hasnt gotten to that point yet. So anyway, needless to say I feel like a complete boob for having wanted to cancel the appointment but at the same time I am sooo very thankful that I did take her. Oh well, off to bed I go

Aw, the poor kid. My son didn\'t start getting ear infections until he turned two. He gets them now pretty frequently. I hope she feels better!
I hope she starts to feel better soon. And please don\'t beat yourself up. She is old enough to know how to tell you if her ear hurt and since she didn\'t, it probably wasn\'t totally bugging her. So sometimes, ear infections can be there with no symptoms. Get some sleep while you can.
