Today is Friday, March 09, 2007. Wow what a week I had.
Last Saturday I believe, my husbands Grandpa whom is 82 years old went in to the hospital with Flu like symptoms. Something interesting about him is that his typical normal body temperature is beyond extremely low so when he runs a fever most of the time it isnt caught. Anyway, within the first two or so days of being there; the nurses noticed that he had blood in his urine and they determined that he had experienced a heart attack. On the fourth day they finally determined that he had been experiencing complications from Pneumonia and he had also had a second heart attack. Taking all of this into consideration, on Wednesday we made the 1.5 hour round trip to where both sets of our parents live so that my husband could go over to the hospital with his dad to see his Grandpa. He said that he was disoriented but that amazingly he seemed to be doing okay.
As I mentioned in my last journal entry; my daughter came down with a funky runny nose and cough on Monday and it has lasted ever since. Then on Tuesday I noticed that I had a little cough starting and that my chest was tightening up, but I know that my problems are a result of being Asthmatic and exposed to 8 smokers in a very small enclosed space for several hours last Saturday night.
Tuesday was also the 1 month anniversary of having found out that our wonderful sweet little angel Angela Christine had passed away. While I found myself to be justifiably sad throughout the day, I coped a lot better than I ever would have thought that I could.
On Wednesday, the little girl that I watch did not come over due to having the same symptoms that my daughter has had since Monday. The break was nice and very much needed.
Nothing much happened yesterday other than my watching the 6 month old little boy, the 5 year old little girl, my daughter and having cleaned quite a bit of the house.
And then theres today
First of all, I received a call at 8:35am that the 5 year old little girl that I watch had now come down with the full blown stomach flu and that she wouldnt be attending. I have to admit that I just about stood up and did a happy dance. This was due to the fact that I am feeling beyond crummy, my glands in my neck are swollen, I have a sore throat and my cough is just irritating the heck out of me. Also on my platter for the day so to speak is the following. First of all today is the 1 month anniversary of my D&C. I tried to call my totally and completely insensitive mother just to chit chat and to get my mind off being sad but once again she didnt have time for me so Ive resorted to keeping myself busy, hanging my head and doing everything in my power not to cry. In regards to my crappy relationship with my mother, Ive come to the conclusion that I must have been a surprise to my parents when I came around and for that matter an un-wanted surprise. Sounds horrible dont it but it makes total sense! Why else would you be so horrible to the one child that is always there and always taking care of everything for you? To quote my husband, She is a bad mom to you, to your sister and to your brother. Actually she is 100 times better to my sister than she has ever been to me.
Alright, enough pity party for me for the time being. Ill write more later!
