Today is Tuesday, February 20, 2007. Last night I had a wonderful 1.25hr conversation with one of my dearest friends whom I've known for almost 12 years. Her husband (my husbands best friend) passed away almost 3 years ago at the age of 49. After losing her husband, she decided to attend grief support meetings at her local church and now orchestrates the group. Anyway, speaking with her did me a world of good due to the fact that she basically confirmed that all of my thoughts were correct (that being sad is more than okay, that these feelings just arent going to go away and that everything I am feeling is normal), that I wasnt out of line for being mega offended at my mothers insinuation to get over it and that I am properly going through the steps in grieving.
Now on with today
Let me start by saying that I have accomplished more than I ever thought I could/would today. This is in part due to the fact that I was tossed in the river and told to swim so to speak. What I mean by that, is that after not having watched one of the two children that I care for in my home daycare for over a month; the little girl returned today. So anyway, I got up around 7:15 this morning, opened up the blinds on my first floor which is where I spend the majority of my day when the kiddos come, I hopped in the shower, spent a little time outside talking to a neighbor, cleaned up the kitchen, got my daughter and the other little girl breakfast, watched a little TV, got the girls lunch, got my daughter dressed for school and sent her off with my husband. I then tucked the other little girl in for a nap, talked to my neighbor AGAIN and just sat down to update my journal. In case you didnt notice, I did update my mood from Bad to Okay for the first time in many days. I think the improvement in my mood has to be as a result of my having a distraction/something that I HAVE to do, and due to the fact that my good ole rock (hubby) is off work today.
Anyway, Im going to sit and vegetate for a while before we have to go pick up our daughter from school and hope that the good mood/feelings stick around for a while!

I hope your good (better) mood sticks around a while to and is CONTAGIOUS!
I hope the better mood sticks around for a while to. I think it\'s nice sometimes to have something to focus on. Just remember to try to keep dealing with the feelings every so often so you don\'t get stuck. Many hugs to you!
