Today
Today, I forgive.
I forgive those who hurt me, those who didn't nurture me, those who did things to me, not with me.
I forgive those who I gave parts to and didn't stop me from preserving the whole.
I forgive myself for making poor choices and making life harder on myself than it has to be.
I forgive myself for stumbling, falling down, taking the wrong turns, stagnating, complaining, screaming, fighting, hurting, judging.
Today, I release my anger, my pain, my struggle, the battle that I have already won.
Today, I forgive the little girl who was hurt by so many and helped by so few. I give her a hug, smooth her hair, wipe the tears off of her cheeks, look into her hopeful eyes, and tell her she's going to be OK, that what tore her down doesn't take away from who she is. I tell her she still has value, that she is still a good person. I tell her no one will take that away from her. I tell her that she still deserves what the world has to offer, no matter what she was given in the past. I kiss her forehead and tell her she's free.
Today, I am free. Every day, I will read this message to remind myself that I am free. I don't have to hurt, fight, or struggle anymore. I'm not dirty or disgusting. I have value. I am worth all of the good I receive. I deserve all of the love and kindness extended upon me. I have value.
