I have spoken to my special friend today, she has a big day ahead of her today. She is taking her son to a respite center for the first time for a overnight stay she is going to stay with him on his first night. I wish her and her wonderful son blessings. He has AS and ADHD and the whole family can benifit from them having the extra help. It has been tough for them. My heart goes out to them all. I love you my sweet Nina and family.Well today is the day that I go to therapy. I am always happy to go there. I will cry, scream and try to find new ways to cope with my very critical points in my life at this time. Pain and suffering day after day. My brain is torn into shreds. My life with it's ups and downs. But my life goes on, my family loves me they tell me and show me. Hugs to all,Altheia

Thank you, Shadow1968 for your supportive words! This is how it went, sleeping at the respite:
The first night at the respite
in the pool he was bathing
as the daylight was fading
I came to see my boy
using the right words was crucial to not destroy
first night sleeping at this place
had to make him find his way in this new space
he showered for the very first time in here and we sat down
played Nintendo games and of course I wrinkled my face in a frown
a mother not so good at this thing
jumping and flying- only to confusion bring
son had a good laugh at his poor mother
he was so cute smiling like no other
out on the computer looking at some new pics of my son playing basket ball
saying he wanted to say good night to his dad- making a call
viewing an Elvis music video on You Tube and taking a look at our website
it was all a big thing for him to sleep at the respite
he began to cry- saying he wanted to go back home again
I read him his social story and gave him a piece of paper and a pen
he drew and wrote down the things worrying his mind
I used the written word for him to leave the anxiety behind
he ate his snack and then Janne read him a book
then we went to bed and my hand he took
holding it all through the night
he woke up early before the morning light
around 4.50 he opened his eyes and gave me a big smile
to receive such a smile- for that I could run mile after mile
we went to the bathroom both of us to pee and then went back to bed
then sleep found its way back to us with the letter z
at 6.45 dad called to wake up his son and wife
we started with breakfast this new day in life
drove to pick up his sister and go to school
oh, my son- you are sooo COOL!
