Yesterday I got an email from someone who was looking for friends on this site of her mother (Liz)...(Snowbaby)...I was one of her closest friends on the site - we even exchanged phone numbers and she has called me in her most desparate of times - trying to escape her very abusive husband of 25 years. I encouraged her to leave - I told her that I finally got out after he tried to kill me and that I didn't want to see that happen to her. I told her she would be fine and to be strong...well, her daughter found me on this site to tell me that her mom was air-lifted and is in a coma, every bone in her face broken, brain swelling and has a 50/50 chance of survival...all because she left. I told her to leave, I told her she would be fine...he found her..he tried to kill her.

I can't stop thinking of her. I feel so badly for giving my advice now. I will never do that again in those situations. I am not an expert and should have never ever told her what to do.

I don't know what I will do if she doesn't survive.

Jen, It\'s not your fault. If he was going to do harm to her it would happen just as well if she had stayed. It would just make it easier for him if she stayed. We all need to pray for her. I mean BIG HUGE prayers!!! Please let me know how I can help if at all or if her daughter needs any sort of financial assistance. I sent a mail to her daughter as well. Don\'t put this on you. You were a good friend to give her good advice. The man is a raging lunatic and I SO applaud Snowbaby\'s courage for making the move. She will survive this. We have to belive she will and can.

Hey- You did the right thing. She needed to leave. You are not responsible for that scum. He alone should bear ther responsibility and face the consequences. I hope he gets what\'s coming to him. How does anyone hit the person they are supposed to love the most. He\'s a total creep.

Jen, It is not your fault...please...this man is a sick man. he would have done this sooner or later whether she stayed or left. This just gave him more of a reason. I am one of Liz\'s friends too. I am heartbroken. I encouraged her to leave too!!! She was brave even in her depression and fear and being sick..she was strong ...I am so honored to know her. I love her as a sister-friend and when I heard this ...I couldn\'t believe how poor our justice system is that he got as far as he did. Please don\'t blame yourself. You are a good example of sometimes how things do work out. her husband is a wacko! and he was killing her slowly every day! Lets\' keep Liz in our loving light...we love you Liz!!!!!!

Jen, you have been through so much with you experience and tried sharing from your heart what you thought was best to help a friend you knew well and who was in crises. I agree with the others, don\'t put this on your shoulders. You have a good heart and care much so you offered advice in hope of protecting and keeping your friend safe. You shared from your own experience, noticed warning signs in your friend Liz and didn\'t want her to get hurt. The guy is a jerk (to say the least) and justice will hopefully prevail and get his butt in jail for a long time. My thoughts and prayers are with Liz, her daughter and you along with serenity55. I\'m sure Liz is grateful to have the friends here like yourself. I am praying for her healing as I am certain others are too.
