I'm new to this, I joined but never got on here. I know more than ever I need support from mothers dealing with the loss of their child. My son left us on February 12th of last year. He was 26. He died from an overdose. Fetynal was cut into heroin, he died from a lethal dose of fetynal. I really am just lost. I haven't many people to talk to, nobody wants to talk much about him. I miss him so much. He was a good kid, so intelligent. It's hard to wrap my mind around him really being gone. I don't know what I am expecting here, I'm just new to this site, trying to navigate, hopefully connect with others in my situation.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Our son died 6-1/2 years ago from fentynal too. He was 34. It is so very hard! It seemed no one wanted to speak of him either and I found this site about 3 months after he was gone. This site has been a real blessing to me. The moms here are wonderful, compassionate, understanding and have always been here for me when I most needed them! I hope you find the love and compassion here that you so desperately seek. I know how that is.
We would love to hear more about your son and yourself as you are able. Sometimes it is just too hard to write and we understand that. Sometimes the tears just flow but they are cleansing. Sometimes it feels as though you are going crazy. I hope you find the support here that I have.
Sending love and tight hugs,
Leda/MomofJosh
I am SO sorry for the loss of your precious son. You have most certainly landed in a place filled with hearts with ears, compassion, understanding and hope too. I lost my son Douglas to a drug overdose in July of 2008, and these wise and incredible women have held my hand and my heart.
Be tender and so very gentle with your grieving heart and know that however you feel is what is needed for now. Your loss is still so very raw and new and it\'s only the discomfort of others that keeps them so distant. I think the fear of saying something \"wrong\" keeps us frozen and yet to not say anything either feels so isolating.
It takes courage to write a \"first\" journal and I am so grateful that you did. The women who are a few steps further along on this path kept reminding me just to take each breath, moment and day as it comes. Not to look too far into the future or too far back in the past and just allow myself to BE however I need to BE. Grief and loss are not a \"disease\" or something we will ever be over, yet somehow each of us in our own way and in our time learns how to integrate it into life now. I believe I will be a life long learner with this.
Gentle care to you and a warm welcome,
XO Joanie/ Mom of Douglas
I am so very sorry that your son left this earth..the pain and \" the lost feeling\" is so normal. I am so glad you are here reaching out. I lost my daughter 2 yrs ago and this group is my life line. No one understands like a mom who has been there..
Continue to journal..no judgement here..just comfort..open hearts..a listening ear and hugs in this virtual world..(((hugs))) Vicki
.
You are in the right place. The moms here totally understand your sorrow. Only another grieving mom can truly \"get it\" please come and write whenever you feel like it...we listen, we share how we made it and somehow that helps. I lost my son, Alex,8 1/2 years ago as a result of a motorcycle accident...he was 22. I found this site shortly afterwards. The moms truly helped me survive the loss of Alex. I know you will find that support here too. Love and gentle hugs Karen
We are all a part of the same group here, our stories may all be a bit different, but we were all forced into membership of grieving mothers.I hope that you may find some pace here. The ladies here will open their hearts to you and surround you with their healing love! I know this because that is what they have done for me. Unlike others WE understand your pain, WE want to to hear and talk about your beloved son. I know that I would love to have people share their memories of my son with me, I want no I need to know that he is remembered by others, that he mattered. I truly believe that only someone who has been forced upon this journey truly gets it. You are NOT alone!! Reach out as much or as little as you are comfortable with and please know that there is always someone here who understands and cares. Sending you gentle hugs....Kathy
Yes our story may vary but the outcome of sorrow is the same. Our children will live forever in our hearts and here we can always find understanding. Both of my girls left this earth at 27 and 33 due to cystic fibrosis. I am trying to continue life by honoring them as best as possible. Be kind to yourself as your son would want that for you. Peace, Kathy
I am so very sorry you have to walk this road. Here, you can talk about your son, mention his name, share your loss or whatever it takes to help you breathe your way through. Be kind to yourself Lauri
We understand your broken heart....we really do. This is a place you can come for support & love. You have taken a huge first step by writing a journal. When you are able, feel free to read our journals & look at our photos. This is how we get to know each other & our children. Just knowing we are not alone can help us get through another day.
Hugs of peace
Vicki
So sorry for the loss of your son. You can talk about him often, we care. You will find a wonderful support system. These women are amazing. Prayers for your healing. Much love. Robin.
Thank you, all of you for taking the time to make me feel welcome. Its been a really rough month. I\'ve done alot of screaming and punching walls when nobody else is home. I\'m hurt, I\'m angry and so lost. I don\'t know if that\'s normal to be so angry, but I am. He should be here, this shouldn\'t be real! I just wanted to get on here and say thanks for sharing and caring, I do appreciate it. You all are suffering from the loss too. I\'m sorry. Truly.
