Vacation
Sigh, stupid website lost my whole entry.
Back from vacation and have the blues. It is all quiet again. Youngest son online with head phones on, hubby playing video games. Oldest son and girlfriend off to her family.
Pretty decent trip. Oldest son came straight from camp out and very tired the whole time. Bit of a whiner about how early we had to get up (7am) and too busy for him. Hubby likes to go go go on vacations. He does not like to sit still for more than 30 minutes. Drives my oldest crazy to be so over scheduled. Did have one afternoon of downtown built in, but ended up using it up.
Girlfriend brought two swimsuits and wanted to go to beach. Hadn't planned that at all as hubby not a beach guy. Laying in sand doing nothing, um no. Well oldest son tells me he might propose to girlfriend on trip if it feels "right". Well felt right in the forest, right as my camera battery died. Son tells me later and he is not happy as only place left to go is a prison and a boat where he will probably be motion sick.
So I found a beach. Ask girlfriend and although too cold to swim without a wetsuit and dangerous rip tides wants to go see the ocean as she has not since she was like 2. So get there and she loves it. Nudge oldest how happy she is and romantic place. An hour later and "Kiss the Girl" from the Little Mermaid runs through my head 100 times. I see him dig in his pocket. Standing a ways away and not facing the ocean so not good pictures, but have a good zoom so from the back, no ocean in the picture, but got three of him knealing in front of her.
This was the son who 3 years ago told me if he dated a girl he would not bring her home to meet us. Very big turn around to be there for the proposal if only at a distance.
Glad he did it there as last day was the boat and yup three of us sick for 6 hours. Fun. Hubby's choice of activity. He knows 2 of us get sick, found out girlfriend does too. Too bad it was the last day as that remains the most prominent memory from a pretty good vacation.
Now back to normal, quiet and feeling alone. Sad as I wish I was better at appreciating what I got to have and hang onto that feeling for a lot longer. I am going to go look at pictures again. Maybe that will help. Oh and one more girlfriend told me she likes spending time with us more than her family. Happy thoughts!

I find vacation memories to be just as good or better then the vacation itself! When I get low I still think of the \"good old days\" and it makes me laugh!
