I just had a gig cancelled and I'm fine with it. I didn't get out of bed until 9. Actually I feel a surge of energy knowing it is cancelled. Interesting. Having an eight hour drive ahead of me on Sunday, plus work, plus eight hours back on Tues...well, I guess I do feel better knowing I don't have to do it. And as for the money...well, it just throws it into next year (if he really gets approval to do it and that's suspect). I got an unconditional apology from Perry but we still haven't talked on the phone. He is thinking I was talking about that one email and I'm talking about a larger issue. I don't think he "gets" it. but then...do I really "get" what it is to be in a wheelchair? Probably not. He apologized again - better this time. He gets it. I'm gratified. I took one vicodin last night and boy, does it make things better. I had Barbara for dinner and we watched a movie. I still hurt a bit but I could read in bed and felt alive. I woke up at nine. Feel okay - a blessing. I'll work out as soon as my ipod is loaded. walk the dog and grade papers after lunch. Tonight I am in the play. I'll try to avoid taking a vicodin as it makes me chatty and I want to be cognitively connected to my lines i.e. I want to under do it rather than over do it.
